Therapy for Teens
Anxiety—Depression—relationships—academic stress—dating—self discovery—bullying
The teen years are a crucial period characterized by growth and transitions as adolescents navigate significant developmental, hormonal, and social changes. These natural shifts show up in a variety of ways, such as heightened emotions, escalating external pressures, and noticeable behavioral changes. For many teens, this is the most challenging time of their lives. They may feel overwhelmed by these changes while simultaneously feeling alone, awkward and misunderstood.
My primary aim is to assist teenagers in developing coping strategies to address challenges related to anxiety, depression, relationships with peers and family, academic stress, dating dilemmas, and issues surrounding identity. I am dedicated to delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapy, maintaining a deep respect for each individual's unique background and experiences.
Young adults often encounter difficulties in comprehending their internal struggles and may resist sharing these struggles with caregivers or other trusted adults. My journey as a psychologist originated in my desire to work with teenagers. Much of my early training was dedicated to working with teenagers in various levels of care including inpatient, partial hospital, intensive outpatient and outpatient settings. My years of experience specifically working with teens enables me to provide a secure environment where they can explore their feelings, improve self-awareness, and enhance their relationships. A genuine and trusted connection between a teenager and their therapist is a powerful catalyst for change. Therapy serves as an effective tool for not only reaching personal goals but also gaining a deeper understanding of oneself.
